3、withcheese,thenplayedthenoisyminercalls,videotapingtheresults.Asacontrol,theyalsorolledalargeorangeballtowardsthemagpiestoseehowtheyordinarilytilted(倾斜)theirbeakstogroundthreats,andthrewtheballtoseehowtheyreactedtoaerialthreats.Theresearchersrecordedanaveragemaximumbeakangleof29deg
4、reesforthethrownball,andanaveragemaximumof9degreeswhenitwasrolled.Theminers’aerialwarningcausedanaveragemaximumbeakangleof31degrees,andthegroundwarningcausedanaveragemaximumof24degrees.Oneofthestudy’sauthors,DominiquePotvin,saidthemagpiesshowedanastonishinglevelofinsight.Magpiesand
