5、NTENTSINTRODUCTIONInamodernpowersystem,increasingofloadsandnon-linearequipment'shavebeendemandingthecompensationofthedisturbancescausedforthem.Thesenonlinearloadsmaycausepoorpowerfactorandhighdegreeofharmonics.ActivePowerFilter(APF)cansolveproblemsofhar

6、monicandreactivepowersimultaneously.APFhavetheabilitytoadjusttheamplitudeofthesynthesizedacvoltageoftheinvertersbymeansofpulsewidthmodulationorbycontrolofthedc-linkvoltage,thusdrawingeitherleadingorlaggingreactivepowerfromthesupply.ShuntAPF’sallowthecom

7、pensationofcurrentharmonicsandunbalance,togetherwithpowerfactorcorrectionPowerQualitycanbedefinedasthephysicalphysicalcharacteristicsoftheelectricalsupplyprovidedundernormaloperatingconditionsthatdonotdisturbthecustomersprocess.PowerQualityproblemexists
