3、TCo.,Ltd.QCD-013Rev.:0Page:3of12Title:ULTRASONICEXAMINATIONPROCEDURE1.SCOPEOFAPPLICATIONThisprocedureiscompiledinaccordancewiththerequirementsofASMECodeSectionVandSectionⅧDivision1.1.2Inaccordancewiththisprocedureapulse-echotypeofultrasonicinstrumentshallbeusedforCodeproductexamin

4、ation.Singleprobe,anglebeamscanningshallbetheprincipalmethod,ifnecessary,straightbeamscanningmayalsobeused.1.3Thisprocedureisapplicableforultrasonicexaminationofbutt-welded,fullpenetratedjointinwrought(rolled,drawn,forgedorextruded)materialwiththicknessequaltoorgreaterthan5/16in.(

5、8mm)detecting,locatingandevaluatingthereflectorsfromtheweldmetal,heataffectedzoneandbasemetaladjacenttheweld.1.4Ultrasonicexaminationofsinglesideweldedpartialpenetratedweldsandausteniticsteelweldsarenotconsideredtobewithinthescopeofthisprocedure.1.5Unlessotherprocedurehasbeenappro

6、vedandacceptedthatmayspecifyparticularrequirements,ultrasonicexaminationrelatingtomethod,evaluation,anddetailedtechniqueandrequirementshallbeinaccordancewiththisprocedure.2.NDEPERSONNEL2.1NDEpersonnelshallbequalifiedandcertifiedaccordingtoNJBST’SWrittenPracticeQCD-011basedonSNT–TC

7、-IA(CurrentCodeAcceptedEdition).3.GENERALEXAMINATIONREQUIREMENTS3.1ExaminationcoverageThevolumeshallbeexaminedbymovingthesearchunitovertheexaminationsurfacesoastoscantheentireexaminationvolume.Eachpassofthesearchunitshalloverlapaminimumof10%ofthetransducer(piezo-electricelement)di
