6、on41课文讲解:Doyoucallthatahat?Call我们知道最常用的是“打电话”的意思。同时,call还可表示“把…叫做、称为”,常用于口语和非正式文体中。在第10课中我们讲到过name和call的区别,这里再复习一下:name通常表示给一个新产生的人或物命名,“给…取名”,是学名,比较正式,如:HisparentsnamedhimRobert,buttheboyscallhimBob.‘Doyoucallthatahat?’Isaidtomywife.‘Youneedn’tbesorudeaboutit,‘mywifeansweredasshelookedatherselfi
7、nthemirror.…needn’tbesorude…这里的needn’t表示“不必要、没必要”。英语中实际上有两个need。一个是普通动词need,是表示“需要”的意思。比如:Ineedacar(我需要一辆汽车。);另一个是情态动词need。是表示“必要”。情态动词的need和can,may等情态动词一样,后接动词原形,但只用于否定和疑问句,肯定句用must,haveto,oughtto或should。
