3、elium’sd-lineof587.9nmis1.517,resultinginaθcof41°.Iftheincidentangleisgreaterthanθc,TIRwilloccurandlightwillbetransmittedthroughoutthelightpipe(Figure1).Sincelightraysenteralightpipeatavarietyofincidentangles,thenumberofreflectionsinsidethelightpipediffersfromraytoray.Thesm

4、allestincidentangle,whichisequaltoθc,willhavemorereflectionsthanlightenteringatanincidentanglethatismanytimeslargerthanθcwithinthesamelengthlightpipe(Figure2).DuetolowNAlightsourceshavingalargernumberofraysgreaterthanθcthanhighNAlightsources,lowNAlightpipesarelongerthanhigh
