3、cReportinginAustralasiaofExplorationResults,MineralResourcesandOreReserves.TheJointOreReservesCommittee(‘JORC’)wasestablishedin1971andpublishedseveralreportscontainingrecommendationsontheclassificationandPublicReportingofOreReservespriortothereleaseofthefirst
4、editionoftheJORCCodein1989.RevisedandupdatededitionsoftheCodewereissuedin1992,1996and1999.This2004editionsupersedesallpreviouseditions.ConcurrentlywiththeevolutionoftheJORCCode,theCombinedReservesInternationalReportingStandardsCommittee(‘CRIRSCO’),initiallyac
5、ommitteeoftheCouncilofMiningandMetallurgicalInstitutions(‘CMMI’),has,since1994,beenworkingtocreateasetofstandardinternationaldefinitionsforreportingMineralResourcesandMineral(Ore)Reserves,modelledonthoseoftheJORCCode.Representativesofbodiesfromparticipatingco
6、untries(Australia,Canada,SouthAfrica,USAandUK)reachedprovisionalagreementonstandarddefinitionsforreportingin1997.Thiswasfollowedin1998byanagreementtoincorporatetheCMMIdefinitionsintotheInternationalFrameworkClassificationforReservesandResources–SolidFuelsandM
7、ineralCommodities,developedbytheUnitedNationsEconomicCommissionforEurope(‘UN-ECE’).AsaresultoftheCRIRSCO/CMMIinitiative,considerableprogresshasbeenmadetowardswidespreadadoptionofconsistentreportingstandardsthroughouttheworld.Theseareembodiedinthesimilarcodes,
8、guidelinesandstandardspublishedandadoptedbytherelevantprofessionalbodiesinAustralia,Canada,SouthAfrica,USA,UK,IrelandandmanycountriesinEurope.ThedefinitionsinthiseditionoftheJORCCodeareei
