1、DevelopmentofPLC-basedTensionControlSystemAbstractFiberwindingtensionisanimportantfactorinthemoldingtechniquesofcompositematerialwhichinfluencesthequalityofwindingproductdirectly,andthetensioncontrolisakeytechniqueinfiberwindingtechniques.Thispaperintroducesaclosed-loopte
2、nsioncontrolsystemwiththeprogrammablelogiccontroller(PLC)withfunctionmodulesasitscontrolkernel,thealternatingcurrent(AC)servomotorasexecuteelementandtheradius-followingdevicetoaccomplishthereal-timeradiuscompensation.Themechanismofthetensioncontrolsystemisanalyzedandthenu
3、mericalmodelissetup.Thecompensationtechniqueoftheradiusofthescrollisanalyzed.Experimentalresultsshowthatthesystemiswellqualifiedwithhighcontrolprecisionandhighreactionspeed.*Thecomponentsofcompositematerialfiberwindingpossesssuchadvantagesaslowweight,highstrength,andhighc
4、orrosionresistance,andtheyarewidelyappliedinaviationandaerospaceindustry.Manyresearcheshaveshownthatimproperorunstabletensionleadstoastrengthlossof20%-30%ofthefiberwoundcomponents.Anidealtensioncontrolsystemshouldprovidestableandadjustabletensionduringthewindingprocess[1-
5、3].Withthedevelopmentofthewindingmachine,tensioncontrollershave,sofar,undergonethreestagesofdevelopment,i.e.,mechanicaltensioncontroller,electricaltensioncontrollerandcomputerizedtensioncontroller[4-5].Withthedevelopmentofelectronictechnologyandtheappearanceofthemicroproc
6、essorofhighercostperformance,computerizedtensioncontrollercameintouse.Microprocessorbecomesthekernelofthecontrolsystemandthuscutsdownthenumberofcircuitsoftheelectroniccontrolsystem,whichgreatlysimplifiesthesystem,improvesitsreliabilityandmakespossibletheapplicationofadvan
7、cedcontrolmethods.Therefore,thistypeofcontrollersiswidelyused[6-7].Thetensioncontroltechniquesarebecomingmatureandthespecificationsarebeingimprovedinsomedevelopedcountries.However,thefiberwindingindustryofChinastarteduplateandstilldropsbehindcomparedwiththewesterncountrie
