3、neseAcademyofSciences,Beijing100049)AbstractWiththedevelopmentof3Dscanningtechnique,jointextractionfromscannedhumanbodymodelisoneofthemostactiveresearchareasinvirtualhumanmodeling.Manydifferentapproacheshavebeenproposedwiththeaimofextractingjointsfromscannedhumanbody.Butmostofthesemethodscannotgua
4、ranteeposeindependence,whileothermethodswhichcanensureposeindependencerequiremanualintervention.Tosolvethisproblem,anewframeworkispresentedforautomaticposeindependentjointextractionfromscannedhumanbody.Firstly,anewMorsefunctionisdefinedonthescannedhumanbodyshapeasgeodesicdistancefrompointstoasou
5、rcepointwhichcanbeextractedbyaheuristicmethod.Secondly,theMorsefunctioniscalculated,andthenfeaturepointsandtopologicalstructureofthemodelshapecanbeextractedautomaticallyaccordingtoMorsetheory.Finally,shapeisdividedintosegmentsbasedonMorsefunctionisolines,andjointscanbeextractedfromthecorrespondings
6、egmentsofthehumanbodyshapebyanalyzingthecircularityofMorsefunctionisolinesofthemodel.Experimentshavebeendoneon20scannedhumanbodieswithabout5000facesand2300pointsineachbodyshape.Theexperimentresultsdemonstratethatthismethodisaposeindependentandautomaticmethod,andismoreaccuratethanpreviousmethods.Ke
