2、ersburg,195251,RussiaAbstractUsingtherecentlyproposedquantumelectrodynamicalformalism,wecalculatetheCasimir-PolderfreeenergiesandforcesbetweenthegroundstateatomsofRb,Na,CsandHe∗andtheplatesmadeofAu,Si,sapphireandfusedsilicacoatedwithagraphenesheet.Itisshownthatthegraphenecoatinghasnoeffectont
3、heCasimir-Polderinteractionformetallicplates,butinfluencessignificantlyforplatesmadeofdielectricmaterials.Theinfluenceofgraphenecoatingincreaseswithdecreasingstaticdielectricpermittivityoftheplatematerialandthecharacteristicfrequencyofanatomicdynamicpolarizability.Simpleanalyticexpressionsforth

5、TIONTheinteractionofapolarizableatominthegroundstatewithanidealmetalplateatzerotemperature,causedbythezero-pointoscillationsoftheelectromagneticfield,wasdescribedbyCasimirandPolder[1].Itwasgeneralizedtotheplatematerialscharacterizedbythefrequency-dependentdielectricpermittivityε(ω)atnonzerote
6、mperatureintheframeworkoftheLifshitztheory[2].InsucceedingyearsmuchworkhasbeendonetoinvestigatethedependenceoftheCasimir-Polderinteractiononthecharacteristicsofatomsandpropertiesofplatematerials[3–8].Thesetheoreticalinvestigationswerestimulatedbytheexperimentalstudiesofquantumreflection[9–11]
7、andBose-Einsteincondensation[12–14]ofdifferentatomsnearmaterialsurfaces.Furthermore,afteraqualitativeexperimentaldemonstrationoftheatom-plateinteraction[15],moreprecisemeasurementofthethermalCasimir-Polderforcehasbeenperformed[16]usingtheadvantageso
