2、rcusGarveycontributedalottothefuturedevelopmentofAfricanAmericansandthefightforequalrights.Moreover,theformationofAssociationslikeNAACP,knownasNationalAssociationfortheAdvancementofColoredPeople,andUNIA,alsocalledUniversalNegroImprovementAssociation,helpAfricanAmericanstosecuretheirrightsandbe
3、treatedequallywiththeWhitesaswelLHowever,therearestillconflictsduringthatperiodbetweenAfricanAmericansthemselves.W.E.BDubois,theleaderofNAACP,claimedtogainequalrightinanonviolentwayandtriedtointegratewiththemajoritycultureinordertogainequalrights.NAACPaimstomakesureallracesgainequalrightsonall
4、aspects,helpingtheAfricanAmericanstogetinvolvedintothemajoritiesandtryingtointegratewiththemainculturedevelopment.WhileMarcusGarvey,aprominentnationalist,rejectedtheintegrationwiththemajoritytypesofliteratureandmaintainedhisracialprideasAfricanAmerican.ThemainpurposeoftheUNIAfoundedbyGarveywas
5、tokeepthepurityoftheirnobleraceasAfricanAmericans,andbethemselveswithouteventryingtogetalongwiththeWhites.Garveyevenincorporatedasteamshipcompanycalled“theBlackStarLine"thatonlyhadblackemployees.TheconflictbetweenDuboisandGarveywentfurtheranddeeper,itgraduallyformedtwogroupsofpeoplewhofoughtag
