2、AuniÞedanalyticmodelforeffectivemassdensity,effectivebulkmodulus,andeffectiveshearmodulusispresentedforelasticmetamaterialscomposedofcoatedspheresembeddedinahostmatrix.Theeffectivematerialpropertiesarederiveddirectlyfromtheaveragesoflocalmomentum,stress,andstraindeÞnedinasingle
3、doublycoatedsphere.Itisshownthattheeffectivematerialparameterspredictedbytheproposedmodelareinexcellentagreementswiththecoherent-potentialapproximationresultsatlowÞllingfractionswheretheanisotropyofperiodicstructurescanbeneglectedforelasticwaves.Theadvantageoftheproposedmethodis
4、thatitcanrevealclearlythephysicalmechanismfornegativeeffectivematerialparametersinducedbytheresonanteffect.Itisfoundthatnegativeeffectivemassdensityisinducedbynegativetotalmomentumofthecompositeforapositivemomentumexcitation.Negativeeffectivebulkmodulusappearsforcompositeswithan
