3、onicsettings.Geologicfluidflowmaybedrivenbytopographicreliefatthesurface,mechanicaldeformationoftherocks,andthermalgradientsandanomalies,allofwhicharerelatedtotectonicenvironmentsandprocesses.Thecombinationoffluidpressureregime,thermalregime,andtopographicreliefissuchthatupwardfluidf

4、lowisdominantineompressionalenvironments,suchastheorogenicgoldmineralizationsystems,whereasconvectionsystemsarebetterdevelopedinextensionalenvironments,e.g.,VMSandSEDEXmineralizationsystems.Topographicreliefandhorizontalshorteningassociatedwithcompressionalstressregimeinanorogenmaydr

5、ivefluidflowf0rhundredsofkilometerslaterallythroughtheforelandbasintostableplatformareas,suchasintheMVTmineralizationsystems.Thedetailedfluidflowpatterns,however,aremuchmorecomplexthanthisgeneralization,andevolvewithtectonicprocesses.Inareasthathaveexperiencedmultipletectoniccycles,s

6、uchasthediwaregions,mineraldepositsformedinearlycyclesmaybeoverprintedbythoseformedinlatecycles,andnewfluidinputfromthemantlemayberequiredformineralizationinthelatestages.Asmetallogenydealswiththerelationshipsbetweenmineralizationandtectonicsettings,andhydrodynamicsofmineralizationis
