1、REGULATIONSFORTHEDEGREEOFMASTEROFMEDICALSCIENCES(MMedSc)TheseregulationsapplytocandidatesadmittedtotheMasterofMedicalSciencesintheacademicyear2016-17andthereafter.(SeealsoGeneralRegulationsandRegulationsforTaughtPostgraduateCurricula)M18DefinitionThedegreeofMasterofMedicalSciences(MMedSc)isapostgr

2、aduatedegreeawardedforthesatisfactorycompletionofthecurriculumofoneacademicyearforfull-timestudyortwoacademicyearsforpart-timestudyintheLiKaShingFacultyofMedicine.AnypublicationbasedonworkapprovedforahigherdegreeshouldcontainareferencetotheeffectthattheworkwassubmittedtotheUniversityofHongKongfort

3、heawardofthedegree.M19AdmissionrequirementsTobeeligibleforadmissiontothecurriculumleadingtothedegreeofMasterofMedicalSciences,acandidateshall:(a)complywiththeGeneralRegulations;(b)complywiththeRegulationsforTaughtPostgraduateCurricula;(c)holdaBachelor'sdegreewithhonoursorthedegreesofMBBSofthisUniv

4、ersity,oranotherqualificationofequivalentstandardfromthisUniversityorfromanotherUniversityorcomparableinstitutionacceptedforthispurpose;and(d)satisfytheexaminersinaqualifyingexaminationifrequired.Advancedstandingofupto12creditunitsmaybegrantedtoacandidatewhohassuccessfullycompletedequivalentcourse

5、(s)subjecttoapprovalbytheFacultyBoard.CandidatesseekingadvancedstandingshouldsubmitawrittenapplicationtotheFacultyOfficebeforecommencementofthestudy.Suchcourse(s)shouldbecompletednomorethan5yearspriortothecandidate’scommencementoftheMasterofMedicalSciences.M20Qualifyingexamination(a)Aqualifyingexa

6、minationmaybesettotestthecandidate’sformalacademicabilityorhis/herabilitytofollowthecoursesofstudyprescribed.Itshallconsistofoneormorewrittenpapersortheirequivalentandmayincludeaprojectreport;and(b)Acandidatewhoisrequiredtosatisfytheexaminersinaqualifyingexaminationshallnotbepermittedtoregisterunt

7、ilhe/shehassatisfiedtheexaminersintheexamination.M21AwardofdegreeTobeeligiblefortheawardofthedegreeofMasterofMedicalSciencesacandidateshall(a)complywiththeGeneralRegulations;(b)complywiththeRegulationsforTaughtPo
