4、ds?Becausethereisadebatehere-withunclearfuture,weshouldstopbuyingmore.SECRETARYCLINTON:Well,IcertainlydothinkthattheChinesegovernmentandthecentralbankhereinChinaismakingaverysmartdecisionbycontinuingtoinvestintreasurybondsfortworeasons.First,becauseit'sagoodinvestment.It'sasafeinvestment.Evendespi
5、tetheeconomicchallengessweepingovertheworld,theUnitedStateshasawell-deservedfinancialstabilityreputation.And,secondly,becauseoureconomiesaresointertwined.TheChineseknowthat,inordertostartexportingagaintoitsbiggestmarket,namely,theUnitedStates,theUnitedStateshastotakesomeverydrasticmeasureswiththis
6、stimuluspackage,whichmeanswehavetoincurmoredebt.ItwouldnotbeinChina'sinterestifwewereunabletogetoureconomymovingagain.So,bycontinuingtosupportAmericantreasuryinstruments,theChinesearerecognizingourinterconnection.Wearetrulygoingtoriseorfalltogether.Weareinthesameboat.And,thankfully,wearerowinginth
