2、yisanotherfactorrelatedtodepression.Theremaybechangesorimbalancesinchemicalswhichtransmitinformationinthebrain,calledneurotransmitters.Manymodernantidepressantdrugsattempttoincreaselevelsofcertainneurotransmitterssoastoincreasebraincommunication.Whilethecausalrelationshipisunclear,itisknownthatan
3、tidepressantmedicationsdorelievecertainsymptomsofdepression.Researchersalsostudypsychologicalfactors.Theyincludethecomplexdevelopmentofone'spersonalityandhowonehaslearnedtocopewithexternalenvironmentalfactors,suchasstress.Itisfrequentlyobservedthatlowself-esteemandself-defeatingthinkingareconnect
4、edwithdepression.Whileitisnotclearwhichisthecauseandwhichistheeffect,itisknownthatsuffererswhoareabletomakecorrectionstotheirthinkingpatternscanshowimprovedmoodandself-esteem.Anotherfactorcausingdepressionisone'searlyexperiences.Eventssuchasthedeathofaparent,thedivorceoftheparents,neglect,chronic
