2、ferredthemtoawomanwholatergavebirthtotwogirls―twinsisters.Whilehisclaimshaveyettobeverified,HesaysthatonebabyhastwosetsofthealteredCCR5gene,whichhehopeswillpreventHIVfrombeingabletoenterhercellsifsheweretoevercomeincontactwiththevirus.Theotherbabyonlyappearstohaveonesetofal
3、teredCCR5genes,whichmaynotprotecthercompletelyfromHIVinfectionbutmayextendherlifeifsheweretobecomeinfected.WhileHeistryingtopresenthisfindingsasaboonfortheHIVcommunity,researchersandbioethicistsintheU.S.saytheannouncementhasleftthembaffledandconcerned.HIVresearchersareinter
