4、neficialrelationshipswithallstakeholders,includingshareholders,creditors,employeesandthewidercommunityandenvironment.Thistwo-partarticleseekstoreviewcorporategovernanceissuesfromanAsiaperspective.OwnershipandcontrolofmanycompaniesintheregiondifferfromthatcommonlyseenintheWestandtherearetherefo

5、respecificissuesthatneedtobeaddressedinthiscontext.OnekeycharacteristicaboutAsiaisthatmanyofthelargestcompaniesintheregionareownedandcontrolledbymajorcontrollingshareholders.Theseareoftenindividualsorfamiliesandsometimesthestate.Controllingshareholdershavestrongincentivesformonitoringthecompan
