1、RETURNTOSCHOOLPLANPROCEDURESRETURNTOSCHOOLPLANAhealthcareprofessionalwithtraininginthemanagementofconcussionwillrecommendCOGNITIVEANDPHYSICALrest.Bothareneededforthebraintoheal.Typically,inthefirstfewdaysfollowingaconcussion,completecognitiveandphysicalrestarenee
2、ded.Everyconcussionisdifferent.Afewstudentswillbereadytoreturntoschoolimmediately.Moststudents,however,willneed2-3daysofcompleterestbeforereturningtoschool.Forsome,aIongerrestperiodisrequiredforsymptomstoimprove.Assymptomsbegintoimprove,studentswillreturnfulltime
3、toschool.However,learningaccommodationswillbenecessaryuntilallsymptomsclear.Teacherscanassisthealingbycancellnghomeworkandreducingordismissingassignmentsduringthisperiod.ThisisrVtliketheflu,wherestudentscancompleteschool-workwhileathome.Studentsneedabreak,notjust
4、apostponement,duringthiscriticaltime・TheConcussionManagementTeamwilldevelopaGraduatedReturntoSchoolPlan,asteppedprogressionofincreasedactivityovertimeassymptomssubside.Becausethehealingprocessisnotlinearorpredictable,theConcussionManagementTeamwillcloselymonitora
