2、icaleffectsofwaitinginlinetoboard,sendingindifferentgroupingsofseatassignments,andtheinteractionbetweenvariouscomponentsoftheboardingprocesstodeterminethetimerequiredtoboardanaircraft.Wedevelopedadetailedsimulationmethodologytotestourideasandtoquantifythe

3、differencesbetweenboardingstrategies.Oursimulationmodelsallofthecriticalfactorsatplayinaboardingscenario,andiseasilymodifiedtosupportdifferentplanedimensionsandinteriorconfigurationsaswellanyas-sortmentofpassengercharacteristicsdependingonaveragedemographic

4、sandotherstatistics.Webelievethatfurthercollaborationwithyourcompanyandaccesstoyourinternalbusinessdatawouldprovideuswiththecapabilitytomoreaccuratelydetermineresultsandtotuneourparametersspecifictoyourairline.Ouranalysisbeganbydeterminingwhatfactorsimpa

5、ctboardingspeedthemostacrossallboardingalgorithms.Ourconclusionsarepresentedinthelistbelowalongwithstrategiesthatcanbeimplementedtomitigatetheirimpact:•Passengerentryspeed:Thefasterpassengersentertheplane,thefasteritboards.Thismeansflightcheck-inprocedur

6、e(ticketchecking)shouldbeoptimizedtoensurethecorrectnumberofgateagentsarepresent.Thisisparticularlyimportantonlargeplaneswithmultipleaislesorlevels.Flightattendantsshouldbestationedatcriticaljunctions(suchasentrancestoaislesinamulti-aisleplane)todirecte
