4、ssiseconomicallyunfeasible.Recentstudies[1]haveclaimedthatthismaybeovercomebyproducingnotonlyethylenebutalsoelectricitybymakinguseoftheheatfromtheexothermiccouplingreaction.OBJECTIVE(s)Theobjective(s)ofthisresearchprojectaretodiscussafeasibilitystudyontheco-g

5、enerationofethyleneandelectricitybyoxidativecouplingofmethane.SCOPETheresearchwasevaluatedintermsofenergysavings,CO2-emissionreductionsandcosts,comparedtotheseparateproductionofethyleneandelectricitywithconventionaltechnology.METHODOLOGYANDAPPROACHTheco-gener

6、ationprocesswasevaluatedandcomparedwiththeseparateproductionofethyleneandelectricity,onthebasisofenergyuse,CO2-emissions,andcosts.Thedesignbasiswas106kt/yethylene.Theassessmentofenergyusewasbasedonexergyanalysis[11].Thecostcomparisonwasdoneinthefollowingway.A
