1、Mycommentsonsonnet75byEdmundSpenserEdmundSpenser(c.1552–13January1599)wasanEnglishpoetbestknownforTheFaerieQueen,anepicpoemandfantasticalallegorycelebratingtheTudordynastyandElizabethI.HeisrecognizedasoneofthepremiercraftsmenofModernEnglishverseinitsinfancy,andoneofthe
2、greatestpoetsintheEnglishlanguage.Astohissonnet75,itisashortpoembutconveystheauthor’sthoughtsandemotions,whichisregardedasarepresentofhisachievements.ThoughtheEnglishsonnetisgreatlypopularizedbyShakespeare,theSpenserforminfactdemandedmoreskillsanddexteritiesoflanguagew
3、hichwasnamed“theSpenserianstanza.“Sonnet75wasaccordingtothisstructure,whichisspecialintherhymeababbcbccdcdee:OnedayIwrotehernameuponthestrand,(a) Butcamethewavesandwasheditaway:(b) AgayneIwroteitwithasecondhand,(a) Butcamethetyde,andmademypayneshispray.(b)“Vayneman,

5、hemainthemeofthepoemwasexpressednaturally.Romanticdialogues,fluentstructuremadethewholepoemmorelikeaprose.Exactly,itbecameaprosepoem.Sonnet75wasalsoaccordingtothetraditionofiambicfeet,emphasizingonunstressedsyllableandstressedsyllablewhichiscorrespondingwithtide’sfluct
