1、4.7 Free-falllifeboats   4.7.1 GeneralrequirementsFree-falllifeboatsshallcomplywiththerequirementsofsection 4.6andinadditionshallcomplywiththerequirementsofthissection.   4.7.2 Carryingcapacityofafree-falllifeboatThecarryingcapacityofafree-falllifeboatisthenumberofpersonsthatcanbeprovidedwithase

2、atwithoutinterferingwiththemeansofpropulsionortheoperationofanyofthelifeboat'sequipment.Thewidthoftheseatshallbeatleast430 mm.Freeclearanceinfrontofthebackrestshallbeatleast635 mm.Thebackrestshallextendatleast1,000 mmabovetheseatpan.   4.7.3 Performancerequirements4.7.3.1  Eachfree-falllifeboats

3、hallmakepositiveheadwayimmediatelyafterwaterentryandshallnotcomeintocontactwiththeshipafterafree-falllaunchingagainstatrimofupto10°andalistofupto20°eitherwayfromthecertificationheightwhenfullyequippedandloadedwith:.1  itsfullcomplementofpersons;.2  occupantssoastocausethecentreofgravitytobeinthe

4、mostforwardposition;.3  occupantssoastocausethecentreofgravitytobeinthemostaftposition;and.4  itsoperatingcrewonly.4.7.3.2  Foroiltankers,chemicaltankersandgascarrierswithafinalangleofheelgreaterthan20°calculatedinaccordancewiththeInternationalConventionforthePreventionofPollutionfromShips,1973,

5、asmodifiedbytheProtocolof1978relatingthereto,andtherecommendationsoftheOrganization,*,asapplicable,alifeboatshallbecapableofbeingfree-falllaunchedatthefinalangleofheelandonthebaseofthefinalwaterlineofthatcalculation.4.7.3.3  Therequiredfree-fallheightshallneverexceedthefree-fallcertificationheig

6、ht.   4.7.4 ConstructionEachfree-falllifeboatshallbeofsufficientstrengthtowithstand,whenloadedwithitsfullcomplementofpersonsandequipment,afree-falllaunchfromaheightofatleast1.3timesthefree-fallcertificationheight.   4.7.5 ProtectionagainstharmfulaccelerationEachfree-falllifeboatshallbesoconstruc
