3、gicalfootprintsince2004.Humandevelopmentisconstrainedbynaturallimits(biocapacity),whileourdemandonthenature(ecologicalfootprint)areexceedingthem.Iworkatfootpringtaccounting,driverstrackingandsmallerfootprintstrategy.IamparticipatedinReportonChinaEcologicalFootprint2008/2010/2012,jointlypub
4、lishedbyWWFBeijingofficeandlocalbcrcau.IneverycdtionoftheReport,Iwasresponsibleforupdatinglocalmethodsanddata,aswellasaccoutingglobalreachofappropriatedbiocapacity・Iamdeeplyshockedbythestronglinkageofregionalecolgocialfootprinttourbanisation.Iwillthereforecontinuetocarryoutrelatedresearchf
5、orsupportingdecisionmakingonsmallerfootprintChina.During2006-2010,Ispentmostofmytimeonassessingregionalmultifunctionalityandzoningregionalpatterntowardssustainabledevelopmenwith2329countiesinChinaasthebasicspatialcells•Oneobjectiveofthestudyistodevelopregionalfunctionassessmenttoolswithfoc
6、usonmultifunctionality.Everyregionisanatural,economicandsocialcomplexsystemwhichplaysmultiplerolesand,byvirtueofthis,maycontributetoseveralobjectivesatonce・Wedisaggregatedregionalmultifunctionalityintofivesubgroups:Humanhabitation,employment,economicdevelopment,resourceprovisionandecologic
