6、cdevelopment(Pellett,1989).ThediseasesthatwereresponsibleforavastmajorityofdeathsinEuropeandNorthAmericainthenineteenthcenturyarenottheprimarycausesofdeathtoday.Althoughthespecificreasonsforthesechangesinmortalityratesarenotwellunderstood,afewofthemoreg
