3、hwascalledeustress,whilestresswhichwasunpleasantorharmfultotheindividualwascalleddistress.Holmesandhiscollaboratorweightedandscoredstressfullifeevents.Theyprovedthatseverehealthimpairmentislikelytooccurifpeoplehaveseverestressfullifeeventsandifthelifeeventsscoreexce

4、eded300pointsinthepreviousyear.Nevertheless,itwasreportedthattherewasonlyaweakrelationshipbetweenthestrengthofstressandtheincidenceofpsychiatricorsomaticdiseases.Knowingthesefacts,researchersattemptedtoidentifyotherstressfactorswhichaffectedpsychiatricorsomaticdisea

5、ses.Lazarusandhiscollaboratorsreportedthatthedailyhasslesoflivinghavingcontinuousandchroniccharacteristicsareasignificantstress.These"dailyhassles"appearedtobebetterpredictorsofhealthoutcomesthanlifeevents.Recently,thecausalrelationshipbetweenjobstressandpsychiatric

6、illnessorcardiovasculardiseasewasstudied.Thejob-demand-control-supportmodelsuggeststhatpsychologicalstrainandsubsequentsomaticdiseasesresultedfromtheinteractionofthreetypesofjobcharacteristics:jobdemand,jobdecisionlatitude,andworkrelatedsocialsupport.InJapan,causalr

7、elationshipbetweenjobstressandmentalhealthhasbeendrawingtheattentionofresearcherswhoarecurrentlystudyingjobstress.Therefore,thestudyofjobstressisimportanttodevelopstrategiesforthepreventionofstressrelateddiseasesandforhealthpromotion.However,therelationshipbetweenjo
