5、earea.2.2Water-basedextinguishingmedium:Freshwaterorseawaterwithorwithoutadditivesmixedtoenhancefire-extinguishingcapability.3Principalrequirementsforthesystem3.1Thesystemshouldbecapableofmanualrelease.3.2Theactivationofthefire-fightingsystemshouldnotresultinlossofelectricalpowerorreducti

6、onofthemanoeuvrabilityoftheship.3.3Thesystemshouldbecapableoffiresuppressionbasedontestingconductedinaccordancewiththeappendixtotheseguidelines.3.4Thesystemshouldbecapableoffiresuppressionwithforcedventilationfansrunningandsupplyingairtotheprotectedarea,oramethodofautomaticallyshuttingair

7、supplyfansuponreleaseofthesystemshouldbeprovidedtoensurethatthefire-fightingmediumisnotdispersed.3.5Thesystemshouldbeavailableforimmediateuseandcapableofcontinuouslysupplyingwater-basedmediumforatleast20minutesinordertosuppressorextinguishthefireandtoprepareforthedi
