2、ntendedforusewithnominalsystemvoltagesof600Vandless,exceptthatwhereappliancesaredrivenbyuniversal-typemotorsorelectromagneticmechanisms,thescopeislimitedtoappliancesratedforuseonnominalsystemvoltagesof240Vorless.ThisStandardappliestoappliancesdesignedtobe
3、usedinaccordancewiththeRulesoftheCanadianElectricalCode,PartI.*Forconvenience,theterm“appliance”or“equipment”isusedinthisStandard.1.2ThisStandardappliestopermanentlyconnectedandcord-connectedappliancesforhouseholdandcommercialuseinnon-hazardouslocations.N

5、s,food-wastedisposers,barbecuemotors,hand-heldengravers,andsimilarequipment.1.3ThisStandardappliestosprayersintendedforextensiveopensprayingofcleaningfluids,paint,insecticides,andsimilarliquidshavingaflashpointhigherthan60°C,butexcludingelectrostaticspray
6、ersandsprayersforuseinsprayboothsorinotherareaswherehazardousconcentrationsofflammablevapoursarelikelytobepresent.1.4AutomotiveequipmentcoveredbythisStandard,suchaswheelaligners,enginetiminglights,andanalyzers,mightormightnothavemotors.1.5Requirementsforc
7、ord-connecteddouble-insulatedappliancesarespecifiedinClause8.1.6ThisStandarddoesnotincluderequirementsforequipmentcoveredbyaspecificStandardundertheCanadianElectricalCode,PartII(e.g.,draftingtables,pencilsharpeners).1.7InCSAStandards,“shall”isusedtoexpres
8、sarequirement,i.e.,aprovisionthattheuserisobligedtosatisfyinordertocomplywiththestandard;“should”isusedtoexpressarecommendationorthatwhichisadvisedbutnotrequired;“may”isusedtoexpressanoptionorthatwhichispermissiblew
