1、AbstractInrecentyears,withtherapidlygrowingdemandformultimediaservicesandthetrendofserviceconvergence,thepenetrationofopticalfiberinaccessnetworkisanultimatesolutiontobreakthelast-milebottleneckimposedbythecoppernetwork.Inthenearfuture,wavelength-div
2、ision-multiplexedpassiveopticalnetwork(WDM-PON)canbetheenablerofthenextgenerationopticalbroadbandaccessthatrequireslargebandwidth,protocoltransparencyandupgradeflexibility.Colorlessprogramatopticalnetworkunit(ONU)isanattractivesolutionforlow-costand
3、highefficiencyimplementationofWDM-PON,asitreducesthecostofmonitoringandmaintenanceofthesystem.ThispapermainlystudiesonRayleighbackscattcringeliminationandeffectofthechanneltransmissionperformanceinaWDM-PON.First,thecolorlessWDM-PONnetworkstructureisp
4、roposed,andwithoutconsideringthefiberRayleighbackscatteringofWDM-PONtransmissionperformanceisstudied.ThisColorlessWDM-PONusesthedirectre-modulationtechniquebasedontheMach-Zehndermodulator,andthepaperstudiestheChannePsBERperformanceoftheuplinksignalwh
5、enusingdifferentmodulationsandcodingschemesthroughsimulation.Secondly,onthebasisofthemoredetailedanalysisofthegenerationmechanismoftheWDM-PONRayleighbackscattering,makesacomparisonandanalysisoftheclassicmethodsofeliminatingRayleighscatteringeffect,an
6、dproposesanewringstructureofWDM-PON,whichremainscolorlessadvantage.Finally,OptisystemsoftwareisusedtoemulateinthisringWDM-PONstructure,andtheperformanceofthenetworktransmissionisdiscussed.Astheresult,thisringWDM-PONstructurecansupportuptoeightoptical
