3、thChina.DuringtheperiodoftheTaipingHeavenlyKingdom,HongXiuquanerectedalarge-scaleHeavenlyKing’sPalaceinthecompoundoftheLiangjiangviceroy’sOfficialResidence.On1January1912,DrSunYat-senwassworninastheProvisionalPresidenthere.ItsuccessivelybecametheOffic

4、ialResidenceoftheJiangsuMilitaryGovernors,theVice-President’sOfficeandsoforthinthefollowingfifteenyears.In1927,theNanjingNationalistGovernmentwasestablishedandherebecametheofficesofit.AftertheoccupationofNanjingbyJapanesetroopsinDecember1937,theoffice
