7、igrationOccupationsinDemandList(MODL)reviewopensforsubmissionsTheAustralianGovernmenttodayreleasedissuespapersfor,andcalledforcommentsto,theMigrationOccupationsinDemandList(MODL)review.Theevaluationprocesswillbeamajorstepinconstructingaframeworkformig

8、rationwhichwillmeetAustralia'slongertermeconomic,socialanddemographicneeds.TheMODLreviewwillassessthecentralskillstargetingmechanismfortheGeneralSkilledMigration(GSM)program.TheMODLwasintroducedtotargettheGSMprogram,toapplicantswhohadskillsinoccupatio

9、nsandspecialisationsinshortsupplyinAustralia.Thereview,leadjointlybytheDepartmentofEducation,EmploymentandWorkplaceRelationsandtheDepartmentofImmigrationandCitizenshipwillexamineandreportonthefollowing:TheroleandpurposeoftheMODLintargetingskillneedsin

10、relationtotheGSMprogram,tocomplementthesupplyoftertiaryqualifiedAustraliansAproposalforanewmethodologyandstructurefortheMODLtomeetitsintendedpurpose,takingaccountof:thelongtermneedsoftheAustralianlabourmarketskillsupplythroughdomestictertiaryeducation

11、.TheimplicationsforpolicyandadministrationofanyproposedchangestotheMODLarrangementsTheimplementationoftheAustralianandNewZealandStandardClassificationofOccupations(ANZSCO)formigrationpurposesandtheimplicationsandtimingofitsapplicationtoMODLandtheCriti
