3、meone-roomschoolhouse. Decadeslaterinthe1980s,homeschoolingmadeacomebackwhenreligiouslyconservativeparentsconvincedstatestoapproveandgivefullcreditfortheteachingofchildrenathome.Thehomeschoolingmovementhassincebroadenedtoincludeparentsofallfaiths-ornofa

5、thefallterm.Instead,oneorbothoftheirparentswillgatherbooksandothermaterials,preparelessonplans,andteachtheirchildreneverythingfromalgebratozoologyrightintheirlivingrooms.Homeschooling'sbigsellingpointformanyparentsistheargumentthatchildrengettheirethica
6、lvaluesfromthepeoplewithwhomtheyspendthemosttime. Adultswhochoosetostayhomeandteachtheirchildrenoftenobjecttostandardizedtestingandwhattheyseeastheregimentedwayinwhichschoolsgroupstudentsbyageratherthanability,andpassthemaheadtothenextgradewhetherornott
7、hey'vegraspedthematerial. Theideathatoneparent,orevenboth,makethebestteachers,andhomemakesthebestclassroom,haslongbeenacceptedinmanypartsofAmerica.Inhome-schoolinghouseholds,it'snotunusualtofindseveralchildren,ages4to16,beingtaughttogether. Olderkidshel
