1、RemotemeterreadingsystemThisinventionisaremotemeterreadingsystemforgasandwaterandthelikewhichpermitsreadingofmeterstobetakenatanypointremotefromthemeteritself.Theusualinstallationwillbetoplacethemeterwhereverconvenientinsideandtoreadthemeterfromtheoutsideofthebuilding.T
2、oreadthemeter,themeterreadercarrieswithhimacompactlightweightreadoutuntilwhichisaboutthesizeandweightofaflashlight.Whiletheunitmaybehandheld,preferably,itisattachedtothemeterreader’sbook.Associatedwiththereadoutunitisacouplingwhichisinsertedintoareceptacleontheoutsideof
3、thebuilding.Currentfrombatteriesinthereadoutunittravelsthoughacabletopotentiometersinthemeterassociatedwiththemeterregisterdialhandscausingthepositionofthedialhandsonthemeterregistertobeindicatedonscaleslocatedinthereadoutunit.Afternotingthemeterreading,thereadoutunitis
4、disconnectedandtheindicationsonthereadoutscalesreturntozero.If,foranyreason,itisdesiredtocheckthereadingobtainedontheoutsideagainstthatonthemeterregisterinside,thiscaneasilybedonebecausethemeterregisterhasthefullsetofdialhands.Thereisnoelectricityinthemeterorcableorouts
5、idereceptacleexceptwhenthereadingisactuallybeingtaken.Thereisnofrictionloadaddedtothemeterwhilethereadingisbeingtaken.Thesystemaccordinglydoesnotinterferewithmeteraccuracy.Inthedrawing,FIG.1isaperspectiveofthepartsoftheremotemeterreadingsystem,FIG.2isacircuitdiagram,FIG
