3、Tsinghua'slaterdevelopment.TsinghuaUniversitywasforcedtomovetoKunmingandjoinwithPekingUniversityandNankaiUniversitytoformtheSouthwestAssociatedUniversityduetotheResistanceWaragainsttheJapaneseInvasionin1937.In1946TheUniversitywasmovedbacktoitsoriginallo
4、cationinBeijingafterthewar.AfterthefoundingofthePeople'sRepublicofChina,theUniversitywasmoldedintoapolytechnicinstitutefocusingonengineeringinthenationwiderestructuringofuniversitiesandcollegesundertakenin1952.InNovember1952,Mr.JiangNanxiangbecamethePre
5、sidentoftheUniversity.HemadesignificantcontributionsinleadingTsinghuatobecomethenationalcenterfortrainingengineersandscientistswithbothprofessionalproficiencyandpersonalintegrity.SinceChinaopeneduptotheworldin1978,TsinghuaUniversityhasdevelopedatabreath
6、takingpaceintoacomprehensiveresearchuniversity.Atpresent,theuniversityhas14schoolsand56departmentswithfacultiesinscience,engineering,humanities,law,medicine,history,philosophy,economics,management,educationandart.TheUniversityhasnowover25,900students,in
