3、lydefinedbythevendorsinapropritorymethod.Withtheambitiontoextendthemarketshareinthemobilephonerelatedindustry,Googlehasstartedtodevelopafreeandopensourcebasedsoftwareplatform,calledAndroid,forthesekindsofdevices.Sincethen,Androidsoongetsfocusfromtheworld-wideindustrycompanies,governmentdepar
4、tments,andacademicorganization.ThisalsohelpstheLinuxcommunityinitsapplicationsinembeddedsystems.WenotonlyhaveportedAndroidintooneofourembeddedplatform(aPXA270board),butalsowe’dliketoshareourexperienceanddetailedprocedurestoanyonewhoareinterestedinAndroidporting.Thekeypointofthisthesisistoemp
5、hasizetheprocessofporting,insteadofhowtoportittoanyparticularhardwareplatform.However,thisprocessstilldependsonsomeofthehardwarecomponentsthatareused.Theportingprocessinvolvesmanyissuesrelatedtothehardware.Theseincludetheworkofkernelporting,driverporting,andalsosomemodificationtotheAndroidii
