3、s,namely,broadeningcross-Straitcooperationinfinancialandservicesectors,promotingtwo-waycross-Straitinvestment,andbuildingamechanismofcross-Straiteconomicexchangeandcooperation.JiaQinglin,memberoftheStandingCommitteeoftheCCPCentralCommitteePoliticalBureau,andChineseKuomintangChairmanWuPoh-hsiung[Wu
4、Boxiong]andHonoraryChairmanLienChan[LianZhan]attendedtheForumanddeliveredspeeches.Theeventwasattendedbymorethan400participants，ineludingpersonsinchargeoftherelevantdepartmentsofboththeKuomintangandtheCCP,personsinchargeofotherpoliticalpartiesinTaiwan,personagesfromeconomicandothercommunitiesonboth
5、sidesoftheStrait,andexpertsandscholars.PersonagesfromtheeconomicandfinancialauthoritiesonbothsidesattendedtheForumasguestsofhonourandinvitedexperts.TheForumwasoftheviewthatsinceMaythisyear,ahistoricopportunityhademergedforthepeacefuldevelopmentofthecross-Straitrelations.Thankstothecommonyearningof
6、thepeopleonbothsidesandthejointeffortsofbothsides,cross-Straitconsultationswereabletoresumeandachieveimportantoutcomes.Arangeofpeople-friendlyandpeople-benefitingmeasureswereimplementedoneafteranother.Nevertheless,giventhecomplexityofcross-Straitaffairs,thereisaplethoraofissuespendingsolution,each
