2、ithrenaltumors.RFAhasbeenincreasinglyappliedinthemanagementofsmallrenaltumors.However,itwasperformedmostlyviapercutaneousapproach,withlimitedcasesandashortfollow-upperiod.METHODSFromFebruary2006toMarch2008,laparoscopicRFAwasperformedon106renaltumors(sizerange:0.9-5.5cm)in106selectedpatients(7
3、4menand32women,agerange:25-81years).Initialcontrast-enhancedcomputedtomography(CT)examinationwasperformedsevendaysaftertheprocedure,withsubsequentCTassessmentatthreemonths,sixmonths,andeverysixmonthsthereafter.SerumcreatininemeasurementwasconductedalongwitheachtimeCTexamination.RESULTSThemean
4、follow-upperiodwas32months(range:12-48).All106tumorswerebiopsiedbeforeRFA,ofwhich90werediagnosedasrenalcellcarcinoma(RCC)(84.90%).Therewasoneincompleteablation.Onecasewithradiographiclocalrecurrencewasthenprovedbypathologicanalysisofthenephrectomyspecimentohavenocancercells.Thelocaltumorcontr
5、olratewas98.1%(104/106).Ofthe90RCCcases,thedisease-freesurvivalratewas97.8%(88/90);boththecancer-specificandtheoverallsurvivalratewere100%.Nodeathorrenalfailureaftertheprocedurehasyetbeenfound.CONCLUSIONSOurresultsshowedthatthelaparoscopicRFAonsmallrenalmasswassafe,withoutcomesofpatientscompar
