3、thunderstormsareafewexamplesofmanyimportantpracticalproblems.Mostengineersandscientiststudyingphysicalphenomenaareinvolvedwithtwomajortasks:1.Mathematicalformulationofthephysicalprocess2.NumericalanalysisofthemathematicalmodelWhilethederivationofthegoverningequationsformostproblemsisnotund
4、ulydifficult,theirsolutionbyexactmethodsofanalysisisaformidabletask.Insuchcases,approximatemethodsofanalysisprovidealternativemeansoffindingsolutions.Amongthese,thefinitedifferencemethodandthefiniteelementmethodaremostfrequentlyusedintheliterature.Thefiniteelementmethodisderivedbythevariat
5、ionalmethodssuchastheRayleigh-RitzandGalerkinmethods.Inthefinitedifferenceapproximationofadifferentialequation,thederivativesinthelatterarereplacedbydifferencequotients(orthefunctionisexpandedinaTaylorseries)thatinvolvethevaluesofthesolutionatdiscretemeshpointsofthedomain.Theresultingalgeb
