3、5-2708AbstractTheHongniudepositisanewlydiscoveredskarntypecopperdepositinGezavolcanic-magmaticarcwhichislocatedinthesouthernpartofYidunislandarc.Itscopperreserveshavereachedthelargesize.Distinctlydifferentfromthetypicalskarndeposits,itsskarnandhornfelsusuallyarr
4、angedalternately,consistingwiththeattitudeofstratum.Skarnisnotindirectcontactwiththeintrusiverocksbutdirectcontactwiththemarble.Therearecoarsegarnetandwollastonitevisibleinthemarble.While,therealsohavemarblexenolithsintheskarn.Therefore,theHongniucopperdepositis
5、theproductofconcealedintrusiverocks,belongingtothedistalskarntype.Accordingtothecombinationofskarnminerals,theskarntypecanbedividedintogarnetskarn,garnet-diopside(ordiopside-garnet)skarn,diopsideskarn,idocrase-garnetskarn,wollastonite-garnetskarn,epidote-garnets
6、karn,actinolite-epidoteskarn,wollastoniteskarnandepidoteskarn.Amongthesetypes,thegarnetskarn,diopsideskarnandwollastoniteskarnarethemostcommon.GarnetisthemostimportantskarnmineralintheHongniudeposit,anditisthereforesignificanttostudycharacteristicsofgarnetduetoi
