3、sofanumberofcriteria.Thisproblemmaybecomeaverydifficultonewhenthecriteriaareexpressedindifferentunitsorthepertinentdataaredifficulttobequantified.TheAnalyticHierarchyProcess(AHP)isaneffectiveapproachindealingwiththiskindofdecisionproblems.Thispaperexaminessomeofthepracticalandcomputational

4、issuesinvolvedwhentheAHPmethodisusedinengineeringapplications.Significance:Inmanyengineeringapplicationsthefinaldecisiondependsontheevaluationofasetofalternativesintermsofanumberofdecisioncriteria.ThismaybeadifficulttaskandtheAnalyticHierarchyProcessseemstoprovideaneffectivewayforproperlyq

6、ti-criteriadecision-makingapproachandwasintroducedbySaaty(1977and1994).TheAHPhasattractedtheinterestofmanyresearchersmainlyduetothenicemathematicalpropertiesofthemethodandthefactthattherequiredinputdataarerathereasytoobtain.TheAHPisadecisionsupporttoolwhichcanbeusedtosolvecomplexdecisionpr
