3、raduation.ThislecturenotesispreparedfortheLTHcourseTurbulentCombustion(MVK135andMVK130F)forundergraduateandPh.D.students.Itisaimedatdescribingthefundamentalsofturbulentflamesfoundinfurnaces,gasturbinesandICenginesaswellasincombustionlaboratories,andleadingthestudentstoinsightf

4、ulunderstandingofthebasicprocessesinturbulentreactingflows,developingthecompetencetosolvepracticalturbulentcombustionproblemsinindustryanddailylife.Thisnotesconsistsoffourparts.Part1(chapter1-4)describesthebasicprinciplesbasedonwhichmoderncombustionscienceisdeveloped:themicro-

5、andmacroscopicdescriptionofmolecularandradicalsfoundinacombustionsystem(thermodynamics,chemicalkineticsandtransportphenomenon).Part2(chapter5-6)dealswiththestructuresanddynamicsoflaminarflameswhichinmanycasesarethebasisofunderstandingaturbulentflame.Part3(chapter7-9)describest
