3、agetemp-eratureoftherealblade,andestimatesaremadeofthecoolingflowrequiredtoholdthestan-dardbladetemperaturetoalimitsetbymaterialconsiderations.However,earlyanalyticalworkbyAinley(forconvectivecoolingofthin-walledblades)showedthatboththecoolantandbladetemperaturesshouldincreasealongthebladespan.T
4、hecurrentpaperdevelopsAinley’soriginalanalysistoallowforfinitebladewallthicknessandthermalbarriercoatings,filmcooling,andvariationinthemainstreamgastemperaturealongthespan.Thisnewanalysisshouldenablemoreaccurateestimatestobemadeofcoolingairflowrequirements.Keywords:turbinecooling,bladetemperature,
