3、adAbstractIfLooksCouldKill–AnEvaluationofEyeTrackinginComputerGamesThepossibilitytotrackhumaneyegazeisnotnew.Differenteyetrackingdeviceshavebeenavailableforseveralyears.Thetechnologyhasforinstancebeenusedinpsychologicalresearch,usabilityevaluationandinequipmentfor

4、disabledpeople.Thedeviceshaveoftenrequiredtheusertoutilizeachinrest,abiteboardorothercumbersomeequipment.Hence,theuseofeyetrackinghasbeenlimitedtorestrictedenvironments.Inrecentyears,newnon-intrusiveeyetrackingtechnologyhasbecomeavailable.Thishasmadeitpossibletous

5、eeyetrackinginnew,naturalenvironments.Theaimofthisstudywastoevaluatetheuseofeyetrackingincomputergames.Aliteraturestudywasmadetogatherinformationabouteyetrackersystems,existingeyegazeinterfacesandcomputergames.Theanalysisphaseincludedinterviewswithpeopleworkingwit

6、hhuman-computerinteractionandgamedevelopment,afocusgroupsessionandanevaluationofcomputergames.Theresultfromtheanalysisconstitutedofasummaryofinteractionsequences,presumablesuitabletocontrolwiththeeyes.Threedifferentprototypesofeyecontrolledcomputergamesweredevelop

7、ed.Thefirstwasashoot’emupgamewheretheplayeraimedwithhiseyestoshootmonstersthatappearedinrandomplaces.ThetwootherprototypesweredevelopedwiththeHalfLifeSoftwareDevelopmentKit.InthefirstHalfLifeprototype,theplayeraimedaweaponwithhiseyes.Inthesecond,theviewofsightwasc
