2、LC2012AbstractThisstudyinvestigatedtheindirectandconditionalrelationbetweenfearoffailureandprocrastinationbasedonconstructsfromself-determinationtheory.Usingstructuralequationmodelingtoanalyzedatafrom300universitystudents,wefoundthattherelationbetweenf

3、earoffailureandprocrastinationwasmoderatedbyperceivedcompetence.Therelationwaspositivelysignificantforstudentswithlowlevelsofcompetenceandnegativelysignificantforthosewithhighlevelofcompetence.However,inthelattergroup,fearoffailurenegativelyaffectedsatis

4、factionoftheneedforautonomy,whichinturnincreasedthelikeli-hoodofproblematicdelayonacademicandeveryday-lifetasks.Theresultsarediscussedinrelationtothecomplexinterplayofmotivationalvariablesrelatedtoself-regulatoryfailure.KeywordsProcrastinationFearoffa
