2、onsofBaudot'sandMurray'scodeswerestandardizedasInternationalTele-graphAlphabetsNo.1andNo.2,respectively.Thesecodeswereusedfordecadesbeforetheappearanceofcom-putersandthechangingneedsofcommunicationsrequiredthedesignandstandardizationofanewcode.YearsofdebateandcompromiseresultedintheECMA-6stan

6、-universalHughes.Hughes'sprintercontainedacontinuallyagreementaboutwhatsymbolsandactionscorre-rotatingwheelwithcharactersengravedonitinthespondtowhatarbitraryarrangementofbits,anagree-ordershowninFigure2.Acharactercouldbeprintedmentthatwasreachedonlyaftermanyyearsofdesignbysendingasinglepulse
