3、inedthepresenceofthebintegrin-likeproteinanditspresumptiveligand,fibronectin-likeprotein,duringdevelopmentandinsomeadulttissuesofthebivalvemolluscMytilustrossulus.Wefoundthatbintegrin-likeproteinexpressioncorrelatedwiththedevelopmentanddifferentiationofthediges-tivesysteminlarvae.Be
4、sidesthepresenceofbintegrin-likeproteininthedigestiveepitheliallarvalcells,thisproteinwasdetectedinthehemocytesandsomeadulttissuesofM.trossulus.Thefibronectin-likeproteinwasdetectedfirstlyattheblastulastageandlater,theFN-LP-immunoreactivecellswerescatteredinthetro-chophorelarvae.Thefi
5、bronectin-likeproteinwasnotexpressedinthebintegrin-positivecellsofeithertheveli-gerstagelarvaeortheadultmusseltissuesandtheprimaryhemocytecellculture.Despitethebintegrin-andfibronectin-likeproteinsbeingexpressedindifferentcelltypesofmussellarvae,wedonotexcludethepossibil-ityofdirect
