2、poo,FinlandAbstract.EffectofEPSETICSsystemonfiresafetyhasbeenstudiedbyusingfiresafetyengineeringmethodsforresidentialmulti-storeybuildingsuptoeightfloors.Theprobabilitiesoffirespreadtoapartmentsabovetheroom-of-fire-originwereassessedbycalculatingheatexposuresandconsequencescausedbytheexternalflaming

3、bothfortheEPSETICSfacadeandforfacademadeofatleastA2-s1,d0materials.Concerningconsequencesforlifesafety,thefiredeathprobabilityforEPSETICSsystemwasfoundtobewithintolerablelimitsofF-N-curvewhichillustratestheprobabilityofaneventandconsequencesintermsofnumberofdeaths.Specialconcernshouldbepaidtofir

4、esafetyduringinstallationphasewhenEPSisunprotectedwithoutreinforcedrendering.INTRODUCTIONEnergyefficiencyandoverallneedsforsustainablebuildingsareincreasingtheuseofefficientthermalinsulationsystems.Innationalregulationsandguidelineslimitationsorprotectionrequirementsmaybespecifiedfortheuseofcombu

5、stibleinsulationinfacades.Alternatively,theremaybeperformancebasedrequirementsforproductsorforthewholefacadesystemdefiningfireperformancelevelsfordifferentapplications.ThisstudyaimstodeterminetheeffectofEPSETICS(ExternalThermalInsulationCompositeSystems)insulationforfiresafetywhenusedinexternalwa

6、llandtoproducejustificationforrequiredprotectivemethods.Thestudycoversresidentialmulti-storeybuildingsuptoeightfloors.Inaddition,anassessmentconcerningtheconstructionorrenovationtimeisalsodone.ThestatisticaldatautilisedcoverFinlandandSweden.Theanalysisfocusesonfiresstartinginsidebuildingsandusesd
