4、tosoilswhichenlargingtheCsink.Inthepresentinvestigation,abiocharwasproducedfromricestrawresidue,characterizedanditseffectonricegrainyield,pH,soilorganiccarbon,totalNandchangesinNH4+–NandNO3-–Nconcentrationsinricesoilunderintermittentwetting-dryingandcontinuousfloodingwereexamined.

5、Theresultsshowedthat,thericestraw-derivedbiochairproducedwasneutralinpHandthecationexchangecapacity37cmolkg-1.Applicationofbiochar,reducestheNH4+–NandNO3-–Nconcentrationsinsoilirrespectiveofmoistureconditions.SucheffectwasmorepronouncedonNH4+–NandNO3-–Nconcentrationsunderfloodingc

6、onditionandintermittentwetting&dryingcondition,respectively.IncreasingtherateofricestrawderivedbiochairapplicationratehadsignificantlydecreasedboththeNH4+–NandNO3-–Nconcentrationsinsoil.TheresultedriceyieldfromT3(30gbiochairperkg-1drysoil)wasthehighestandsignificantdifferencecompa
