2、mplex,aperiodicmaterials.XASencom-passesbothextendedX-rayabsorptionfinestructure(EXAFS)andX-rayabsorptionnearedgespectra(XANES)[1,2],wherethetermsrefer,respectively,tothestructureintheX-rayabsorptionspectrumμωðÞathighandlowenergiesrelativetotheabsorptionedgewiththecrossovertypicallyatabout20–30eVab
3、ovetheedge.TheacronymXAFSreferstothefinestructureatallenergies.Theextraordinarycapabilitiesofthesespectroscopiescomeataprice:theydependoncomparisonswithquantitativesimulationsofthespectra.Remarkably,however,theoriesofX-rayspectrahavebecomeincreasinglyaccurateandsophisticated,generallyovercomingthis
