4、fthisMultipleInputMultipleOutput(MIMO)system.Foreachcontrolstructure,decentralised2x2controllerswithProportionalIntegral(PI)controlactionsineachcontrolloopareimplemented.ThePIparametersaretunedandtheperformanceofthedifferentlinearcontrollersiscomparedthroughsimulation.Fortheevaluationofthe
5、proposedcontrollers,thedynamicresponsefordifferentinitialconditionsandchangesinthereferencesisanalysed,aswellasthebehaviourofthecontrolledsystemagainstdisturbances.1.IntroductionBio-ethanolisconsideredaCO2-neutralfuel,suitedtodiminishtheuseoftheconventionalfossilfuelsbasedonpetroleumandnat
6、uralgas.Inpreviouscontributions[1-2]theauthorsreportedresultsaddressingthedynamicmodellingandcontrollabilityanalysisofalowtemperaturecatalyticethanolsteamreformerforfuelcellhydrogenfeeding.Inthiswork,thedesignoflinearcontrollerssuitableforthisethanolreformerisreportedandacomparativeanalysi
7、sbetweendifferentcontrollersisperformedthroughsimulation.Giventhehighnonlinearityofthereformer,thetuningandsimulationtasksofthework,basedonanonlinearmodel,arefundamentaltovalidatethepreviouscontrollabilityanalysisresults,whichwerebasedonalinearmodel.Upuntilnow
