3、ePreventionofPollutionfromShips,1973(hereinafterreferredtoasthe“1973Convention”),articleVIoftheProtocolof1978relatingtotheInternationalConventionforthePreventionofPollutionfromShips,1973(hereinafterreferredtoasthe“1978Protocol”)andarticle4oftheProtocolof1997toamendtheInternationalConvention
4、forthePreventionofPollutionfromShips,1973,asmodifiedbytheProtocolof1978relatingthereto(hereinafterreferredtoasthe“1997Protocol”),whichtogetherspecifytheamendmentprocedureofthe1997ProtocolandconferupontheappropriatebodyoftheOrganizationthefunctionofconsideringandadoptingamendmentstothe1973Co
5、nvention,asmodifiedbythe1978and1997Protocols,NOTINGALSOthat,bythe1997Protocol,AnnexVIentitledRegulationsforthePreventionofAirPollutionfromShipsisaddedtothe1973Convention(hereinafterreferredtoas“AnnexVI”),HAVINGCONSIDEREDthedraftamendmentstoMARPOLAnnexVI,1.ADOPTS,inaccordancewitharticle16(2)
6、(d)ofthe1973Convention,theamendmentstoAnnexVI,thetextofwhichissetoutatAnnextothepresentresolution;2.DETERMINES,inaccordancewitharticle16(2)(f)(iii)ofthe1973Convention,thattheamendmentsshallbedeemedtohavebeenacceptedon1January2010,unlesspriortothatdate,notlessthanone-thirdofthePartiesorParti
7、esthecombinedmerchantfleetsofwhichconstitutenotlessthan50percentofthegrosstonnageoftheworld’smerchantfleet,havecommunicatedtotheOrganizationtheirobjectiontotheamendments;3.INVITESthePartiestonotethat,inaccordancewitharticle16(2)(g)(ii)ofthe1973Convention
